The prospect of geoDefense on the iPad is very appealing indeed.
David Whately, the man behind the critically acclaimed geoDefense series, has confirmed to PocketGamer that a direct sequel will be heading to both the iPhone and iPad later in the year. While the iPhone version will likely be called geoDefense 2, Whately speculates that the iPad version will use a different name, offering geoDefense HD as a possibility.
"I'm going to do a version for iPhone and a separate one for iPad," he explained. "The iPad version will have completely different levels."
With the iPad's large screen, Whately hopes to be able to take the tower defense genre into interesting new territory, he explained that the size of the screen allows for unique level designs not possible on the iPhone.
Both the iPhone and iPad versions of the game will be available before the end of the year.
