Exclusive: ABOVE Screenshots and Icon Art
by Jamin Smith on Tuesday 16th Feb 2010

Why this young man insists on jumping around in a shirt and tie remains to be seen.

The first time I laid my eyes on the artwork for ABOVE, I was sold. The smooth visuals and strong colour palette remind me of the work of Hayao Miyazako and Studio Ghibli, which can only be considered a good thing. The Swedish developer have clearly put a lot of love into their upcoming platformer, which simply tasks players with ascending as high as they can without falling. One finger is all that's required to play (screenshot below gives more detail on this), aiming to prove that simple gameplay is always the most addictive.

Since we ran our news story announcing the game yesterday, Axolot have been kind enough to supply us with some new screenshots and the application icon artwork that will accompany the game upon its release.
